BHARATPUR BIRD SANCTUARY
Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is the famous bird parks in the world also known as the Keoladeo Ghana National Park.It derives its name from the Hindu Temple that is dedicated to the Lord Shiva, situated at the center of the park 'Ghana' means 'dense'.Here you can see the inhabited by Sambar, Chital, Nilgai and Boar, water- birds as well as the waterside birds.In the 19th century, the Maharaja of Bharatpur created the 28.73 sq. km. lake and wetland.In the 1956 it is declared as the Bird Sanctuary and 1981 declared as the National Park.Bharatpur is also often called the "Eastern Gateway of Rajasthan".Keolodeo Ghana National Park is the famous place for both the local and migratory birds.After the few years, the wetland surrounded by marginal forests is the home for the various water-birds, which is the famous place for the bird watchers and referred to as the Bharatpur.
Bharatpur is located on the fringes of the Thar Desert.The best time to visit the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is from the month of October to February but the park is treated all round the year.In the summer the temperature is between the 35°C to the 47°C.In the months of the winter the the minimum temperature is around the 5°C and raises up to the 35°C.Carry light cottons during summers and woolens during winters. Rainfall is less but sufficient.
