Nameri National Park is reffered as the 'land of magic' located in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas in the Sonitpur District of Assam.It is situated appx. 35kms from the Tezpur.From the north side it is attached with the Pakhui Wildlife Sanctuary of Arunachal.Nameri National Park is declared as the forests in the 1978. The vegetation of the park is semi-evergreen, forests with the cane and bamboo brakes.The forests consists of the epiphytes, lianas,and creepers and clump-forming bamboo.Nameri is a birder's paradise with over 300 species of birds here.Nameri and Sonai-Rupai are only Protected Areas in the North Bank of the Brahmaputra in the Civil District of Sonitpur.
This park is situated at the distance of 181 kms from the Guwahati,it is a best place to see the wildlife and the nature greenery all around with the breathtaking natural beauty and diverse flora and fauna.

The best time to visit the Nameri National Park is from the month of November to March.During the winter the weather is pleasent during the day time.The weather is proves dry except for the rains during October and April. In the month of the December and April the weather is cold and the temperature comes very low.
